Join our Afro-Peruvian cajón classes and explore the heartbeat of Peruvian music. The cajón is a traditional wooden drum born from the fusion of African and Peruvian cultures. At our school, we teach more than rhythm—we teach legacy, identity, and joy.

What You’ll Learn

Our cajón lessons are designed for all skill levels—from beginners to experienced musicians. Each class combines technique, cultural context, and hands-on practice to help you connect with the roots of Afro-Peruvian music.

In each class, you'll:

• Learn basic to advanced cajón techniques (bass, slap, tone)

• Understand Afro-Peruvian rhythms like Festejo, Lando, and Zamacueca

• Explore the cultural history of the cajón and its place in Peruvian music

• Play solo and group exercises

• Gain the confidence to perform live or accompany dancers

Our cajón classes are open to:

• Children (ages 7+)

• Teens & Adults

• Musicians, dancers, and cultural enthusiasts

No prior experience or instrument required. We provide cajones for practice!
